As a teenage driver, you are already faced with the huge obstacle of having to pay high auto insurance premiums. Insurance companies see you as "high risk" and feel obligated to charge you for it. It makes sense for them though since statistically teenagers are shown to be some of the most accident-prone driving groups. But there is one method of ensuring that you find the most affordable car insurance for teenagers. The key to this method is knowing that not all auto insurance companies see you the same way.
Although insuring companies see teenagers in general as riskier drivers, these companies use different factors to determine this risk. What this means to you is that each of these companies will charge you a different premium in order to get coverage.
One company many give you an auto insurance quote of $750 for a six month policy. While another company may quote you $600. Now, since you are getting the exact same insurance coverage, which policy are you going to pay for? Right, the second (less expensive) one. It's a no brainer.
Now what if you got another quote for $850. And $575. You see, the more quotes that you have to choose from, the better the chance of finding the lowest possible rate.
Did you know that most teens (or their parents) only get about 1 or 2 insurance rate quotes before making their decision? This is silly. People that do this are paying more for their auto insurance policy than they have to. Are you one of these people?
My recommendation is to get a minimum of at least five quotes from car insurance companies. Don't worry, these quotes are free and you can do as many as you want. But I recommend doing at least five of them.
The cool thing for you is that there are websites that help you out with this (and again at no cost to you). Instead of having to type out the information for you and your vehicle several times (which can be quite boring), you just have to type it out once. These websites, known as multiple auto insurance quote providers, then safely transfer your info to dozens of car insurance companies at the same time.
In a few minutes you'll get a list of auto insurance quotes to choose from. Since the insurance coverage is the same for each, your main factor in determining the best policy will be price. Pick the cheapest policy, make your payment, and then print up your insurance documents.
From start to finish, finding the cheapest possible car insurance for teenagers can take as little as twenty minutes. And when you consider that those twenty minutes can save you hundreds of dollars each year, investing time in researching auto insurance policies can be quite valuable.
